An evening with Jayne Tuttle & Bella Lloyd
6pm, Thursday 18 September
Heads & Tales Bookstore
Join us for an evening with one of our favourite authors, Jayne Tuttle, as she shares her much-anticipated new memoir The Sea in the Metro.
The Sea in the Metro follows Jayne’s experiences as a new mother in Paris, trying to balance creative ambition and city life with the demands of motherhood and marriage. As her relationship with her husband and the city strains, she searches for answers in friendships, the streets, the crowds, in art, language, writing and new wave cinema… but finds only more questions. Something has to give, but what?
At turns funny and heartbreaking, this is a deeply honest story of desire, art and the complexity of modern womanhood. Come along to hear Jayne read from her new work, share insights into her writing process, and take part in a lively conversation about creativity, motherhood, and finding your place in the world.
Jayne Tuttle is a writer, performer and bookseller. She is the author of Paris or Die, My Sweet Guillotine and the The Sea in the Metro. Trained in theatre at the École Jacques Lecoq in Paris, Jayne has worked since as a bilingual copywriter, translator, actor and voiceover artist. Paris or Die was developed into a solo theatre show which toured Australia and France from 2021-2023. Jayne co-owns The Bookshop at Queenscliff.
Jayne will be joined in-conversation by Heads & Tales’ own Bella Lloyd.
Tickets are $10 and include a glass of wine or bubbles! Secure your spot here.
